Here is how to easily clean a burnt pot or pan!

Cleaning burnt pots or pans is a nightmare. I honestly dread doing this chore which is funny because I love cooking. Of course, cleaning goes hand in hand with cooking so I had to find easy ways to tackle minor inconveniences like dealing with burnt pots/ pans.

Unfortunately, it’s impossible to clean them without some elbow grease and some scrubbing but there are certain ingredients you can use which will make the process a lot easier!

What do you need?

  • 1/2 cup of baking soda
  • A tablespoon of unscented Castile soap
  • Some warm water
  • A scrubbing brush/ pad

I have a little disclaimer for you – only use this method on stainless steel, copper, or enamelware. DO NOT use it on cast iron.

Now, the first thing you should do is allowing the pot or pan to completely cool before attempting the cleaning.

Then, you should rinse the pan/ pot with warm water and remove any loose food particles with a sponge.

The next step requires some baking soda! Sprinkle some all over the pan/ pot then add a little bit of Castile soap. Grab a scrubbing pad, dampen it with warm water and start scrubbing. The mixture should look like a thick paste so if it is too liquidy – add more baking soda!

Now, once your pan/ pot is spotless and all burnt areas are clean – rinse very well with warm water and allow to air-dry!
