It’s officially summer – and you probably have a food cooler that you use. I know I have a few of them, however, I came to the realization that I haven’t cleaned it in over a year – and after all, I place food and beverages in it so it has to be spotless in order to avoid any health issues.
Thankfully, cleaning a food cooler isn’t that hard and you won’t waste a lot of time.
How To Easily Clean Your Food Cooler?
There are a few ways to do this cleaning – either use your all-purpose cleaner or vinegar, it depends on whether you prefer using all-natural products or you use commercial cleaners. Both an all-purpose cleaner and vinegar work super well in removing stains, bad odours, and overall cleaning and disinfecting the surface.
I recommend you take the cooler outside if you have a yard and rinse it with your garden hose. Of course, if you don’t have a garden hose you can fill a bucket of water and dump it in the cooler. If you don’t have a yard then clean it in your bathroom with your showerhead!
Once you rinse the cooler, grab the all-purpose cleaner or the vinegar and spray the inside and outside of the food cooler with the liquid. Grab a microfiber cloth and start wiping everything. If you notice stubborn stains, you can swap the cloth for a brush, saturate the area in your product then scrub it.
Once you are done and you are happy with the result, rinse the cooler once again. Then let it air-dry outside in the sun or simply dry it with a cloth or a towel!
